The number of images in this image numbering approximately sixteen determines the cost. In this painting, the images are quite small. The size of an image does not decrease value because of the extra attention and time it takes to paint each one and provide a separate character for each image. In iconic art each image is a different Saint, or person, making the painter not being allowed to copy, and repeat the same effort, but instead change designs, colors, shades, and features. Thus increasing value, and the time necessary to complete a project with many images. Something that needs consideration.
This icon is larger in size approximately 36 X 24 inches, with two images, less gold used,
I use 24 KT gold, and gold cost fluctuates frequently, but perhaps less complicated for the painter.
This type, and size of icon is easily afforded, and more common in demand.
"NATALIA AT WORK"
The value of this icon was determined by size, the image, only one, a greater amount of gold, but also it features a scroll with letters. In this icon, the letters are featured in the Russian language and alphabet. Letters are similar to images, each one has to be measured, and painted with extreme size, uniqueness, and accuracy. Russian being my first language there is less of a risk of mis-spelling words, and desplaying the perfect meaning of the script. Working closely with a painter, and maintaining daily contact if need be, is very important. The video above this example is above and demonstrates this art.
